Strata provides the technical surveying side of disabled adaptations work: assessing structural feasibility, preparing the schedule of works, and coordinating trades to deliver it — working alongside the instructing occupational therapist, who leads on assessing clinical need. Our technical lead holds a BSc in Building Surveying, our operations lead holds a construction management qualification, and we bring in vetted specialist trades for the physical works.

For automatic door adaptations specifically, our CDVI-certified engineers deliver heavy-duty low-energy electro-mechanical swing door operators, wireless access fobs, safety presence sensors, and assisted living electrical infrastructure to BS EN 16005 standards.

What We Install

Low-Energy Swing Door Automation With Accessible Controls

Push pads, touchless wave-to-open sensors, wireless fobs and keypad or RFID readers are specified around the resident's needs identified by the occupational therapist. Operators are low-energy to BS EN 16005 with presence sensors on both sides, mechanical spring return and a fire alarm interface where the building requires it.

How We Work With Occupational Therapists and Councils

The OT assesses and specifies the clinical need; Strata provides the competent building professional role the Disabled Facilities Grant process requires for feasibility, schedule of works and technical delivery. We survey within 48 hours of referral where access allows, prepare a costed schedule of works for grant approval, then install and hand over with commissioning records. Available for new instructions from local authorities, housing providers and private clients across London and the South East.
